Experiments with Light

An evening's work where I sat down to experiment with some lighting on my pictures. Actually, the best way to learn is to try.

To school with love

What I am today is because of my teachers and surroundings. Welham Girls' School is my alma- mater. It was from there that I realised what I wanted to be. This is a tribute to Welham Girls' for making me an "individual". I took these pictures while at school and now planning to publish them as a set of picture postcards. To school with love....

The expressionist baby

I sometimes think that we humans have made life so complicated...in a way we call it development but it as also lead to so many deaths, diseases and disasters. When I look at babies, life looks so simple- no double thoughts, no complications and I think that we have forgotten that "this world is a playground".

Illustration Friday: Parade

I guess all young ones apart from humans of course, are very disciplined....

Rock Concert

The above is after improvement
Posters posters posters....so many kinds...so many colours.... it is so diificult sometimes to think what to do with a blank sheet of paper. This poster is for a rock concert based on god. It is hosted by the church in Bangalore every year. This was just an attempt to use three colours and make the poster youthful and attractive.

As life gets graphic...

These came out from some random forms that I was making on illustrator. I was working with the same elements and colours but the placement of each an every element made such a difference in the meaning it conveyed! Awesome! This is what I call graphical illustration- simple yet effective :)

A hand at software

I am one of those many pitiable souls who are software- phobic... being in graphic design I knowI have to give up these fears and this is one of those attempts. This is the first time I have done an illustration on computer. It's acutually fun! You can do things that are not possible by hand. And what more? It hardly takes time!

Branding issues

Well, branding is the life-line of any product...creating logos and identities is an endless pursuit. It is one of my main areas of interest. "Art O'Health "is a conceptual company which designs healthstyles for people. Like you go to a finance consultant who manges your wealth, you go to this place for managing your health. Health is now more an art only few people are aware of. I have used calligraphy to portray the word art and i am working on many more visuals. These are merely some visuals I liked.

Know your type

Armed

Type-time table

This time-table was done as a classroom project during our typography course. What i really like about it is the distribution and hierarchy of information, and the spirit that it conveys.

AkSharNama- Calligraphy in Indian script

Writing hindi was never really exciting for me but this certainly was...i wish to make calligraphy a strong point in me.

Calligraphic ventures

Well, John Keats happens to be my favourite poet...so here it is an ode to him

Another Venetian sport

And god is watching us.....from a distance

These places and pictures always remind me of how there is a god watching all that we do...ironically from a distance- Venice 2008

Identity Crisis!

We graphic designers have a hard time playing with the same 26 alphabets....but somehow those 26 alphabets make us think a lot....this is just AN example :)

Little Doodle-doo

Little Doodle doo is a little duckling.
He lives with his mummy and daddy at the edge of a pond.
He is like all other ducklings except for one thing,
Doodle HATES his YELLOW WEBBED-FEET...

Birdies say "CHeese" !

Birds have been one of my favourite subjects...i love capturing those split second moments that define these beautiful creatures. These pictures have been clicked in different parts of the world.
